Vox Journey

Why Vox Journey exists

The real founding story — a designer who spent years selling someone else's luggage, the line she finally made her own, and the son bringing it back.

Most brand stories open with a gap in the market. This one opens with a designer who ran out of time.

The years that went somewhere else

Marcus’s mother was a designer. Then the business took over.

For years, the family’s work in luggage meant bringing an international brand into Singapore and selling it — importing it, stocking it, standing behind it. It is real work and she did it well. But every decision that actually mattered on those bags had already been made by someone else, in another country, long before the cartons arrived. The shape. The material. The catch on the handle. The things a designer lies awake thinking about.

She spent her career carrying somebody else’s design to market. There was no room left over for her own.

VOX was hers

Eventually the time came, and she made the thing she had been waiting to make: the VOX luggage line. Her design, her decisions, from the shell to the smallest fitting.

Then something happened in the family, and she had to put it all down again.

The work went into storage. Not because it wasn’t good — because life asked for her attention somewhere more important, and she gave it.

Her son is taking it back out

Marcus is her son. He has decided the line deserves another chance, and he’s brought together everything that survived — the designs, the tooling, the bags themselves — to give it one.

That’s what Vox Journey is. Not a disruption story, not a gap in a market segment. An attempt to put a designer’s own work in front of people who might carry it.

If it works, the person it means the most to isn’t a customer. It’s his mother.

Who is actually behind this

Two people, and we’d rather say so plainly than pretend to be a corporation.

  • Marcus runs the operation — the product, the bags, the orders, the people who carry them.
  • Larry builds the things that live online — this site and the brand’s presence on social.

We are bringing what each of us is good at and hoping it’s enough. That’s the honest size of this.

What that means if you buy one

We’re not going to tell you we’re bigger than we are, and we’re not going to invent heritage we don’t have. What we can tell you is that these bags were designed by someone who had waited a long time for the chance, and that the people selling them to you are the two people responsible for them.

The launch collection opens later in 2026. If you’d like to be there at the start — with 15% off and a free engraved luggage tag — join the founders’ list.

Thank you for reading. And if you’re wondering whether a story like this belongs on a product website: it’s the only reason any of this exists.
